The Chairman of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote proposed 15,000 jobs for the youths.

The Chairman of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, said on Thursday that the company’s  proposed sugar refining plant in Kogi would create 15,000 jobs for the youths.
Dangote made the statement in Lokoja when he flagged off the payment of N220 million donated by him  to assist 22,000 women, selected from the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.
He said the plant would source its raw materials from a sugarcane plantation which would be cultivated on a 20-hectare land   donated for that purpose by the State Government.

Dangote said that he would sustain his assistance to women in the state by establishing a micro-finance bank in Lokoja, noting that the bank would charge only five per cent interest on any loan advanced to women.
The industrialist urged government at all levels to focus on creation of jobs to dissuade youths from criminal activities, advising that a greater percentage of the money being spent on security should be channelled to job creation.
Dangote said that his group would participate in agriculture transformation agenda of the State Government.
On his appointment as an honorary member of the state's executive council, Dangote promised to justify the honour done to him by attending cabinet meeting at least once in a month.
He reiterated his earlier promise to reconstruct the dilapidated 46-kilometre Obajana-Kabba road free of charge, promising to commence the project soon.
Dangote also promised to partner with the State Government to develop the coal power project at Okaba town, remarking that any country without stable power supply would not achieve economic growth.
Earlier, Gov. Idris Wada expressed gratitude to Dangote for coming to the aid of the state during the flood disaster of 2012.
He said that the N150 million cash and N50 million worth of food stuffs and clothes he donated went a long way in resettling the victims.
Wada said that Dangote’s appointment to the cabinet was a way of appreciating his numerous contributions to the development of the state.
The governor pleaded with the industrialist to partner the state in its coal power project, fertiliser plant and the agriculture transformation agenda of the State Government. (NAN/Naija247news)
