IF THE CHURCH CHANGES, THE WORLD WILL BE BETTER: PART 4:

Those who bring sunshine to others cannot hide to from themselves. Those are the words of a great man that understand life as Living Interdependently For Excellence. Lest I forget, thank you all for your feedbacks.

It was said by Dr Martin Luther king, that if you have not found a cause worth dying for, you are not fit to live. The question I ask myself is how can a man say such with audacity? Then I concluded he could say it because of what he stood for.  His beliefs influence his choices as against the chances he had. He chose to see things the way they should be as against the way they are. He decided to inspire people to recreate their world through the investment of their personality in a cause for that’s worth dying for.
When we understand the essence of life and the real reason we are living, our priorities will inspire our values so as not to compromise our welfare for comfort.

In a world of over 7 billion people with no two finger prints, where many say uncertainty is what to expect, it is important to stand out so that we can make our personality the answer to the cry of the confused. This means we are all unique but we ignore it and thread on another’s mans path which makes many to lose their voice. Remember we are the church because we represent Him daily with our character. One Yoruba proverb says “IWA NI E SIN” which means your character is your religion.

As the church, you have an advantage which is the wonder working power at work in us. That advantage which is at work in you what our founding fathers leverage on that made them to continue to live even though they are gone yet they are not referred to as dead but living all because of their works . We have to continue from where they stop and leverage on that same Spirit that raises Christ from the dead to make life better for humanity.

Of what use is that Spirit in you if we are not adding value to humanity? Of what use is living if we are not contributing to humanity, the essence of that Spirit in us is to manifest his wisdom working ability in us to put food on people table, to create shelter for homeless, to give make clothes for those in need and to give hope to those life has battered etc. It is for us to make our life better for Him and to recreate our world for Him in order to make Him famous. But the reverse is the case; many are following opposite of this all because of their deprivation and distraction. Once the spirit changes their life, they become nonchalant about the people they are meant to minister to, they don’t see the needs that they have the capacity to do something about but live in their tiny world. How come many stop at this level?

In every man’s life, the decision you make ends up turning back to make you. The decision can either be yes or no, positive or negative but remember it will turn around to make you. Let’s imagine if Nelson Mandela never made that decision. What would have happened to South Africa, would they have the capacity to host the world in 2010 World Cup?  What South Africans are enjoying today is a result of one man’s decision.

In his inaugural speech as the president of South Africa, he said “At first as a student, I wanted freedom only for myself. The transitory freedoms of being able to stay out at night, read what I pleased where I chose. Later as a young man in Johannesburg, I yearned for the basic and honorable freedom of achieving potentials, of earning my keep,
of marrying and having a family- the freedom not to be obstructed in a lawful life. But  I then slowly saw that not only was I not free, but my brothers and sisters were not free …… that is when the hunger for my own freedom became the hunger for the freedom of my people. It was this desire for the freedom of my people to live their lives with dignity and self respect that animated my life, that transformed a frightened young man into a bold one, that drove a law- abiding attorney to become a criminal, that turned a family loving husband into a man without home…. I am no more virtuous or self sacrificing than the next man, but I found that I could not even enjoy the poor and limited freedom I was allowed when I knew my people were not free.”

One man you help to attain his purpose in life means you have made many too. Inside every orange seed is a tree full of oranges. Is life worth living without a purpose? Sometimes the need around you might be the opportunity for you to discover your assignment, but you are ignoring it. It was said that a candle loses nothing lighting another candle. With its action it will be easier for its flame to be lighted again in case it goes off. Albert Einstein said “The true value of a human being is determined primarily by the measure and the sense in which he has attained liberation from the self.” Our whole actions and desires are bound with the existence of other human beings. We eat food that others have grown, wear clothes that others have made; live in houses that others have built. The greater part of our knowledge and belief has been communicated to us by other people through the medium of a language which others have created. What will be said of you? Remember, our whole being is dependent on another. When you help someone to discover his assignment, you are helping yourself because the one that you help is your testimony that God is alive in your life

Finally, you are the church…….if the church changes, the world will be better.
