“It’s just like what happened on Lost,” he said.
How had I not made that connection?
It’s surreal in this day and age, with technology and resources we have available, that it is possible for a Malaysia Airlines 777 plane, carrying 239 people on board, to just disappear.

But that is the story being told in the news, around the world.
Many other planes and ships are searching for the wreckage of the presumed crash in the ocean.
How does this happen?
How did they just disappear?
When things happen in life that are beyond our control it can be difficult to understand and to reconcile.
Whether its natural disasters, baby loss, loved ones being diagnosed with cancer or other tragic circumstances…
How do we find peace and cope with our new normal?
I have been saddened and captivated by following the coverage of missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370.
Whenever I am going through difficult and uncertain times in life, I find comfort in trying to gather information, as if that will somehow allow me to feel more empowered.
My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to the family members and friends of those who were on Flight MH370, as well as to all those looking for the lost plane and trying to solve this real life, modern-day, mystery.
I am trying not to get sucked in to the conspiracy theories I am hearing about and not let my curiosity consume me.
I imagine that some parts of the plane will be located relatively soon and eventually we will know some of what happened on Saturday, March 8th, after Flight MH370 took off from Kuala Lumpur.
But in the meantime, I will read, watch, and wonder, along with the rest of the world…
How did they just disappear?
Do you feel a connection to news stories, even when you don’t know anyone involved?
How do you cope and find peace during times like this?
